Spencer Robinson and the Wolf Spiders Songs
Guitarist Johnny DeVilla wrote the music for “10 Years of Fire,” and Robinson wrote the lyrics about a relationship Robinson said he had years ago that “almost killed him.” “Don’t Need No Jesus” is about some of the failings of organized religion, Robinson said. “Standing at the End of the World” is the title track from Robinson and the Wolf Spiders’ debut EP, and it’s about two damaged people who meet each other at the wrong time.
The band is comprised of Robinson on vocals and acoustic guitar, DeVilla on acoustic guitar and vocals, Tom Hernandez on drums and percussion, and Piper Ingram on acoustic bass.
Spencer Robinson and the Wolf Spiders’ previous release is the EP Beneath The Surface.
Lecaro: The Musicians’ Ally
“Lina Lecaro is a legendary music journalist in LA and somebody we as a band have respected for years,” Robinson said. “She was always very kind to The Lords of Altamont, the band Johnny and I used to play in. When the Wolf Spiders released our album Beneath the Surface, Lina invited us on her radio show to promote it. I suggested that we play a few acoustic songs in her studio. We were really pleased with the way it sounded, so we thought we’d release it as a free digital EP.”
