Courtney Barnett Releases Single ‘City Looks Pretty’ off New Album

By DONNA BALANCIA

Courtney Barnett has released the third single off her upcoming album Tell Me How You Really Feel, called “City Looks Pretty.”

The single, “City Looks Pretty,” takes her work in a different direction from the first two singles off the album she’s delivered, with one of the most energetic guitar performances yet.  It’s a fun tune and upbeat.

Check out the video for “City Looks Pretty” here:

Against a solid beat and riveting guitar, Barnett sings of life, long-term and short-term relationships.

“City Looks Pretty” is available now, but will also get a special Record Store Day release with the 12-inch, double-A side also featuring “Sunday Roast,” another single off the album, expected May 18 via Mom+Pop / Marathon Artists / Milk! Records.

Courtney Barnett World Tour Includes California

Barnett will tour the album in her native Australia, playing the Sydney Opera House and Melbourne’s Festival Hall.  But first, she’s on a three-month world tour playing North America, Europe and the U.K. She plays San Francisco’s August Hall on May 6 and The Sanctuary at Pico Union in Los Angeles on May 10.

Barnett has become an internationally known artist. She is able to turn intensely personal emotions into songs people can relate to and that’s won her loyal fans around the world.  Her first album, Sometimes I Sit and Think, and Sometimes I Just Sit, (2015) topped many year-end lists and helped her sell out shows around the world.

She’s played top festivals including Desert Daze with Kurt Vile last year and other collaborations include working with Kelley and Kim Deal of the Breeders on her Tell Me How You Really Feel. Her tour features openers including Jay Som, Vagabon and Waxahatchee.
