Since his cause to get Donald Trump to reveal his taxes apparently failed, Moby will perform an “Anti-Inauguration” show on Jan. 20 at The Hotel Cafe to benefit charity.
The renowned DJ last week said a booker called to ask him if he’d play at incoming President Donald Trump’s inauguration but Moby said only on the condition that Trump reveals his tax returns.
Instead he will play what sources are calling an “Anti-Inauguration” set that is expected to include some of the musician’s favorite tunes, a few special surprises and special guests, sources say.
Last week on his Instagram account Moby said he would play in Washington D.C. under one condition.
“I guess I’d DJ at an inaugural ball if as payment #trump released his tax returns,” He wrote on Instagram. “Also I would probably play Public Enemy and Stockhausen remixes to entertain the Republicans. I’m still laughing. Hahahaha. So #trump what do you think, I DJ for you and you release your tax returns?”
The Hotel Cafe gig is presented by Lilac Sessions and Sundays Best and the night is a benefit for the womens center. The show is hosted by “The Internship” star Harvey Guillen.
Moby’s playlist for the inauguration was to include “Fight The Power,” by Public Enemy, “Get Up Stand Up,” by Bob Marley and “American Idiot,” by Green Day.
Tickets are $30, doors open at 6:30 and it is a 21 and up show. The Hotel Cafe is located at 1623 Cahuenga Blvd. in Hollywood. For more information visit The Hotel Cafe website.
