Janet Jackson has taken to social media to promote her show “Control 40” at Amerant Bank Arena in Sunrise, Fla., on Dec. 12.

“Forty years ago my album “Control” changed my life,” the superstar said on her Instagram account. “It was the moment I found my voice.

“And because of all of you and God it became this major success for me,” she said. “I’m really excited, so excited to be celebrating its impact this Dec 12 in Florida in partnership with airtab music. It’ll be an all new show, new costumes a new stage and maybe a little glimpse into the making of the album. And something I’ve never done before, is every song on that album will be shown a little bit of love. And to top it all off, it’s going to be filmed for a movie which means that our time together will be remembered for decades, forever, God willing.

“I cannot wait to feel your love, your energy it’s gonna definitely be a special night for me,” Jackson said. “And I hope it’s a special night for you too. I can’t wait to see you guys I love you and I miss you so much. See you soon.”

Jackson has been prepping for months for the special concert, which focuses on the album, “Control,” which hit the top of the charts and established Jackson as a solo pop artist apart from her famous family.

Prior to the release of the hit album, Jackson severed her relationship with manager-father. She teamed with Minneapolis producers Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis who contributed the funk-synth sound to a young Jackson’s repertoire. Paula Abdul choreographed.
