No Doubt, Metallica, Shine at Rock in Rio USA fest
LAS VEGAS — Taylor Swift and Bruno Mars will perform the second half of the inaugural Rock in Rio USA in Las Vegas May 15-16. Rock in Rio is new to the USA, but the festival celebrates its 30th anniversary this year. The first weekend headliners were No Doubt and Metallica.
Metallica, Linkin Park, No Doubt, and Smallpools were among the performers opening Weekend 1, the Rock weekend. It was confirmed that 82,000 visitors attended the opening weekend.
No time is set yet for Swift. On the Rock In Rio USA opening Friday and Saturday, Rockers No Doubt and Metallica each took their headliner stages after 11 p.m. and the shows wrapped up after 1 a.m.

On the first weekend, dedicated to rock music, the lineup included No Doubt, Metallica, Linkin Park, Maná, The Pretty Reckless, and Hollywood Undead.
On Weekend 2, May 15-16, the lineup includes pop performers on the Main Stage, with Swift, Mars, Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith, Echosmith, Empire of the Sun and Ivete Sangalo.
May 8-9 included Foster the People, Deftones, Sepultura (featuring Steve Vai), Gary Clark Jr, Bleachers, Coheed and Cambria, Saints of Valory, Smallpools and Of Mice and Men.
The Sunset Stage lineup for the second weekend includes Jessie J, John Legend, Charli XCX, Joss Stone, Tove Lo, Magic, James Bay, Mikky Ekko and Big Sean.
