Rumors, secret meetings, and buckets of money: No it’s not the stuff of a high-tension, foreign-intrigue novel. Oasis, the beloved ’90s Brit brothers band comprised of Noel and Liam Gallagher is getting back together.
“This is it. This is happening,” Liam Gallagher posted on social media at 8 a.m. Tuesday UK time. As promised, the lead singer of what was considered a pop sensation and the pride of Manchester, UK, listed Oasis concert dates around the UK and Ireland for the summer of 2025. Tickets go on sale this Saturday for Oasis live ’25. But will Oasis tour the U.S.?
In the pre-social media days, Oasis amassed hit songs by the dozens, a product of Noel Gallagher’s songwriting and frontman Liam’s passionately disaffected, often designer-garbed appearance, and great voice. But social media has given the brothers a chance to stay in front of their respective audiences, which both have done, each promoting their separate careers.
The Gallaghers became almost as renowned for their fighting as for their hit music, and the family band split into warring factions on Aug. 28, 2009 when the band broke up just before they were supposed to go on stage at Rock en Seine in Paris. But over the years since that time, Liam in particular has been alternating pot shots at his brother with lamentations about the breakup — in song and in social media posts — telling people he’s ever hopeful the band will get back together.

Oasis’ most well-known hits include “Wonderwall,” “Live Forever” “Champagne Supernova” “Don’t Look Back in Anger,” and “Rock ‘n’ Roll Star,” but it’s the unique personalities of the brothers and their interpersonal dynamics that have held the fans’ attention beyond the music. Noel has been straight-ahead focused on his band High Flying Birds.
Liam has also been enjoying a successful solo career teaming with an assortment of musicians and songwriters on albums like As You Were, Why Me? Why Not., and his latest release Liam Gallagher & John Squire. Liam’s social media posts, usually brief, sometimes explicit, and often coded for soccer fans, have entertained the throngs of the devoted over the years, especially through the lockdowns and in tough times.
And perhaps the thought that people physically don’t “Live Forever” is what motivated the brothers to put together the Oasis reunion, Oasis Live ’25.
Reports indicate this high-stakes Oasis reunion tour was not easy to make happen. And, of course, it hasn’t happened yet. Allegedly there were secret conversations and photo shoots and clandestine meetings between the two sides. The UK tour with its Cardiff, Manchester, London, Edinburgh and Dublin dates, is estimated to bring in hundreds of millions of pounds between ticketing, merchandise and music.
And, hopefully, Oasis will take the tour to the U.S. and other countries. If the brothers can keep it together.
Oasis commented:
“The guns have fallen silent.
The stars have aligned.
The great wait is over.
Come see.
It will not be televised.”
