Sad Lovers and Giants have released a new album called Mission Creep, comprised of 12 songs that take the listener to the twangy heart of the legendary band’s sound.
One can only hope the U.K. band will go back on their word and decide to tour the U.S. with the new album.
Comprised of Garce Allard, Tony McGuinness, Nigel Pollard, Ian Gibson and Will Hicks, this favorite new wave group formed in 1980 is still putting out great music. During their first U.S. tour, in 2016, McGuinness told CaliforniaRocker.com the band likely would not tour the U.S. again. But never say never.
Sad Lovers’ Giant Sound
Some of the tracks on the album that keep the listener engaged are opener “Cranes,” “Uncharted Islands,” “Siren,” “Failed Love Song,” “Loneliness” and the moody “Blood From A Stone.” Right from the start, the new songs take the well-loved sound of the band and bring it into the present day.

The band came to the U.S. for the first time in 2016 for South By Southwest and locally played the Echoplex. At that time, McGuinness said it was unlikely the band would come back to the U.S. any time soon because each of the band members had other commitments. In 2017, the band released a retrospective box set, Where the Light Shines Through 1981-2017.
