New Single Precedes February Album Release

By DONNA BALANCIA

Teri Gender Bender of Le Butcherettes, Buzz Osborne and Dale Crover of the Melvins, and Omar Rodriguez-Lopez of At The Drive-In have formed a new group, Crystal Fairy, and they’ve released a new single.

Featuring Teri on the vocals, the song, “Drugs On The Bus,” is what you would expect from this alt-rock supergroup of commanding new-era punkers.

Of course, Teri’s unique vocals come through loud and clear and she takes over the song with her celebrated bravado.

The first, self-titled, album by Crystal Fairy is expected to be released February 24 on Ipecac Recordings.

The bandmates came up with the idea for Crystal Fairy when Le Butcherettes were playing gigs with The Melvins. Rodriguez-Lopez and Teri are friends who share a similar take on music as The Melvins.

Le Butcherettes are in Europe on the Raw Youth tour.
