Waxahatchee has released a piercing new single titled “Much Ado About Nothing.” The track marks the first taste of new music from Katie Crutchfield since the release of her acclaimed 2024 album, Tigers Blood. The song comes with a video directed by Anna St. Louis.
Earlier this month Waxahatchee performed album standout “Right Back to It” at the Americana Music Association’s Honors & Awards, where it was also nominated for Song of the Year. Tigers Blood had a nine-week streak at #1 on the Americana Albums Radio Chart, and debuted at #1 and had a multi-week run topping the JBE Non-Comm Radio Chart.
Tigers Blood is one of 2024’s most critically lauded albums, landing on many mid-year lists. The album is out now via ANTI- Records.

Matt Caskitt & The Breaks Release ‘California Dream Hearse’
Matt Caskitt & The Breaks say nothing comes easy, but the record “California Dream Hearse” is an easy listen. Ece Era releases ‘Sunny’ off Debut Album
On her vibrant yet mournful electronic debut, Turkish musician-filmmaker Ece Era challenges cultural ideologies, identity structures, and her difficult past with tracks crafted during introspective moments before sleep or upon waking.
Ece Era’s “Sunny” continues to explore themes of self-discovery and authentic emotion, even sampling vocals from her previous track, “Inner Feeling”. “Sunny” marks Ece Era’s first foray into techno rumble bass, drawing inspiration from Squarepusher.
“‘Sunny’ is about mindless positivity in the face of chaos, like turning a blind eye to the world’s atrocities,” she said. “Instead of confronting harsh realities, people cling to a false sense of peace, ignoring the destruction around them. I had this image of someone turning up the volume on classical music while everything around them is burning. That’s what I often pictured while producing it.”

The Cowsills Album ‘Global’ Drops November 8
The Elusive 1998 Release Restored and Remastered on LP For 1st Time and on CD/Digital with three bonus tracks and featuring guest appearances from Vicki Peterson (The Bangles, Continental Drifters), Berton Averre (The Knack), Peter Holsapple (The dB’s, Continental Drifters), John Stamos, and more. The release is via Omnivore Recordings.
Global is a recovered album from the chart-topping family band whose story was the inspiration for TV Show The Partridge Family. The story includes not only the musical siblings, but also Dick Clark, Daryl Dragon (“The Captain” of Captain & Tennille), the Federal Bureau of Investigation, a world-famous TV actor, power-pop superstars, and renowned industry figures.
Global first appeared in 1998, but was difficult to find; for the few who did, it was a revelation of pure pop greatness. For the many who missed it, it will be a new revelation now. Global will come out on Nov. 8 via Omnivore Recordings on vinyl for the first time ever, and on CD/Digital with three previously unreleased bonus tracks. Along with the announcement, The Cowsills have also shared the album’s lead single “What I Believe.”
Low Cut Connie Movie Gets Digital Release
Low Cut Connie released his hybrid concert film and documentary Art Dealers via Dark Star Pictures. The film is now available for purchase digitally and video on demand. The release follows a 10-city screenings tour that made stops in New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles and more that featured in-theater acoustic performances and Q&A interviews with hosts such as Variety’s Chris Willman, critic Stephen Thomas Erlewine, and Tune-Yards.
Next week, Low Cut Connie will hit the road for a full band headline tour that kicks off on Tuesday, October 8 in Portland, ME and will make stops in Boston, Jersey City, Pittsburgh, Minneapolis, Chicago and many more.

The Meringues Get Response from ‘Pavlova’s Dog’
The Meringues, Kingston, Ontario’s post-punk powerhouse, have released their sophomore album, Pavlova’s Dog.
At the heart of The Meringues are Amanda Pants and Ted Evans, whose dynamic vocal interplay and onstage antics blur the line between playful banter and intense rivalry. Their unique chemistry is supported by the solid rhythm section of Jackson Baird on bass and Alastair Morrison on drums, creating a thrilling atmosphere that threatens to spiral out of control while maintaining a clear artistic vision.

Stone Temple Pilots Put Out ‘Purple Rarities’
When Stone Temple Pilots returned to the studio in 1994 to record the band’s second album, the quartet was facing the high expectations set by its debut Core (1992), which sold more than eight million copies. The release of Purple on June 7, 1994, would cement their place as one of the definitive bands of their generation as the album debuted at No.1 on the Billboard album chart on its way to selling more than six million copies.
Rhino has announced the upcoming release Purple Rarities, a 1-LP purple vinyl with studio and live recordings broken out from the 2019 Super Deluxe Edition. Purple Rarities explores the making of the album with a mix of unreleased tracks that includes demos (“Unglued” and “Army Ants”) and early versions of album tracks (“Meat Plow” and Interstate Love Song”), plus acoustic recordings (“Big Empty”).
Scott Weiland, Dean DeLeo, Robert DeLeo and Eric Kretz recorded most of Purple in Atlanta with producer Brendan O’Brien. The album features some of the group’s most iconic tracks, including “Interstate Love Song” and “Vasoline” – which both topped the Mainstream Rock chart in 1994.
