Gogol Bordello, otherwise known as Eugene Hütz and his whirling dervish crew of Ukranian-style punk musicians, will be hitting the silver screen. The band will be on tour around North America with the film Scream Of My Blood: A Gogol Bordello Story.
Hütz and company will be heading out to Philadelphia, Boston, Washington, Chicago and West Coast cities screening the picture and performing at each stop. Tour dates here.
U.S. Rocker was fortunate to be on hand to catch Gogol Bordello at a recent show that drew the devoted fans as young as 14 and as “vintage” as 65, all present to catch a glimpse of one of music’s most energetic rock bands. Opening for Gogol Bordello was Crazy & The Brains and Grace Bergere, both of whom are aptly named. Crazy & The Brains are fan favorites who keep the audience jumping and Bergere, accompanying herself on acoustic guitar, captures the audience with her beautiful voice and charming demeanor.
Gogol Bordello is comprised of frontman and guitarist Hütz, Sergey Ryabtsev on violin and backing vocals, Gill Alexandre on bass, Korey Kingston on drums and percussion, Pedro Erazo on vocals, percussion, charango, marimba, Erica Mancini on accordion and vocals and Leo Mintek on guitar and vocals. Gogol Bordello’s most recent album is the 2022 release Solidaritine and in the same year, the band put out a 15-year anniversary edition of Super Taranta!
Scream Of My Blood: A Gogol Bordello Story is the story of Ukrainian immigrant and punk legend Hütz. The film chronicles Hütz’s journey from his childhood in Ukraine, his rise to fame with Gogol Bordello, and his return to Ukraine in the wake of the Russian invasion. The pictures is an unfiltered look at the life of a man who turned his struggles into a universal anthem of resistance and freedom. Watch the trailer here.
