LOS ANGELES – Loose Buttons from New York City kept it together at the Moroccan Lounge in downtown L.A. the other night.
They’re promoting the recently released album What’s On Outside, and this indie garage rock four-piece band is comprised of native New Yorkers. With their energy and presence it’s no surprise Loose Buttons have been selling out shows since their return to live music.
Loose Buttons is Eric Nizgretsky (singer), Zack Kantor (lead guitar), Manny Silverstein, and Adam Holtzberg.
Loose Buttons frontman is no stranger to a crowd and has a lot of focus and charisma, which he proved from the first song of the evening, “Something Better.” The crowd here filled up the intimate space of the Moroccan Lounge which worked well for the band’s very first show in the City of Angels.
The energy and musicianship of Loose Buttons shows they are in it for the long haul and willing to pay their dues.
The band’s temperamental and clever music is heard on tracks like “Fell Into A Hole” and “Yesterday & 93” which is driving music but has moments of wide-open space. Nizgretsky throughout the evening was very appreciative to everyone who came out to support or discover them. Either way the enthusiasts were having a great time.
Loose Buttons kept the show moving and the listeners intrigued with Nizgretsky’s declaring his undying devotion to the New York Mets baseball team. He loves them so much he wrote a song entitled “Minor Leaguer” and unleashed its sentimentality on everyone.
