The Polaroids don’t have to take a picture to prove what they’ve been doing during lockdown.
The Linköping, Sweden-based Polaroids are made up of five indie rockers who are punk to the core.
The band released their self-produced debut album, Whatever Makes a Profit, in April 2019.
The guys made a visit to Los Angeles last year and went back to Sweden with a lot of new friends. The Polaroids are: Singer Philip Gätje, David Elliot and Noa Åkesson on guitar, Joakim Vennerholm on bass and Karl Andersson on drums.
As can be seen, there is no shortage of Polaroids fans on the Sunset Strip:
The Polaroids’ debut single Chinatown and the follow-ups Night Arrival and Getting By were released prior to the album drop. There is also a video for Chinatown.
The Polaroids album Whatever Makes a Profit was selected one of the 2019 Best Albums of the Year by California Rocker.
The Polaroids took everyone by surprise with Whatever Makes a Profit, which brings out the best of punk and pop.
“We really like the music of the 1980s,” said frontman Philip Gätje, adding that the band is influenced by a range of punk and pop musicians.
