Sammy Hagar to Host High Tide Party and Car Show on Sept. 28-29 in Huntington Beach

By DAN MACINTOSH

Sammy Hagar is set to host his second High Tide Beach Party & Car Show on September 28 and 29 at Huntington Beach. It promises to be an appropriately representative tribute to Southern California beach culture.

Of course, it doesn’t get any ‘beach-ier’ than the Beach Boys right there on the shores of Surf City. However, there will also be a car show, for the car culture, a lot of authentic Mexican food, adult beverages and dance lessons (Polynesian, Tahitian and the line dancing variety). This festival promises to be just about as beachy as beachy gets.

Host Hagar will front an all-star band that will include Michael Anthony (Van Halen), Jason Bonham and special guest Richie Sambora (among others). While the Beach Boys bring the softer tones, hard rock will be well represented by Vice Neil of Motely Crue, Night Ranger, Blue Oyster Cult and the faux metal of Steel Panther. For something a little different, Patty Smyth & Scandal will also appear.

Sure, anyone can throw together a beach party. Few, though, can top Sammy Hagar’s upcoming September beach plans.
