UPDATED: Case is Still Open for Musician Matt Yu Believed to Have Died from Hit and Run

UPDATE: The investigation into what is believed to be the hit-and-run death of New York musician Matt Yu is still ongoing, according to the Coroner’s Office in Solano County, Calif. The case is still open.

Yu is believed to have been struck by a car and he was pronounced dead at 5:24 AM on Feb. 10. His body was found by California Highway Patrol and went to the funeral home shortly after Yu was pronounced dead, the office confirmed.

There were no witnesses to any accident that allegedly occurred on highway 80, near Dixon, Calif.

Published on Feb. 13: The body of Matt Yu, the New York musician who was reported missing, has been found, according to an acquaintance’s Facebook post.

As posted on the Facebook page of Liz Hayward Strack, Yut’s body was reportedly found after he was believed to have been hit by a car on highway 80 near Dixon, Calif.

Updated on Feb. 12, Hayward posted friend Kristine Do’s report that reads “It is with a broken heart that I have to let you know that Matt is no longer with us.”
