UPDATE: An extra day was added to the Just Like Heaven fest since tickets sold out within minutes for the May 4 festival in Long Beach, resulting in frustration and anger on the part of would-be buyers.
For new information on the now 2-day event go to the Just Like Heaven website. A message on the website suggests techniques for having an easier time getting through to the ticket site, including shutting off ad blockers.
The 2-day event features Phoenix, Yeah Yeah Yeahs MGMT and Beach House headlining Just Like Heaven at the Queen Mary Park in Long Beach on May 3 and 4.
But the concert either sold out in minutes or the ticket site was down, leaving some on social media speculating on the legitimacy of the actual sales. The original price for a GA ticket was $99.
“This has been the worst ticket experience of my life,” said one poster.
“Wish you had been upfront about pricing,” said another.
The lineup is compelling, with some of the best-liked alternative music bands from the 2000s including Passion Pit, Grizzly Bear, The Rapture, Miike Snow, The Faint, Peter Bjorn and John, Tokyo Police Club, Neon Indian, Washed Out, Tennis, Ra Ra Riot, and more.
Frustration a Common Feeling at the Ticket Window
Recently concert-goers have been complaining about having a hard time getting tickets to their favorite shows at the advertised price. Tickets to Bikini Kill, which is scheduled to play the Hollywood Palladium, sold out rapidly as well and this led many to speculate the tickets were bought in bulk by outside agencies then sold at a reseller price. Fans were turned away.
With Just Like Heaven, a new fest in Long Beach, people trying to buy a ticket experienced 45-minute waits and longer and were then shut out, many reported. Others were never able to connect to the ticket site at all despite being “in line” prior to 10 AM.
Some went as far as cussing out the ticket sales operations and questioning capacity and why tickets sold out so rapidly.
On the site, a prompt guides buyers to an “exchange” where there are GA tickets are on sale for a whopping $265 and VIP tickets for the one-day show selling for $365.
