Aloe Blacc and The Grand Scheme grooved with the guests at a “Super Secret” Holiday Party at Swing House Studios.

Blacc was jovial, his 7-piece band picking up the slack and it was a night that few will forget.

Blacc ran through an 11-song set, opening with “Dollar Tease,” an upbeat audience-involvement song and moving into “Lift Your Spirits,” “Love Is The Answer,” “Dollar,” and the astounding “Carry You Home.”

Blacc has a good time with the audience prompting one attendee to remark “He does it all, he’s like a Renaissance man, he tells a joke, he engages and he performs.”

Blacc also sang “Smile,” Million Dollars,” “Candyman,” in honor of Sammy Davis, Jr., “The Man,” which is a repurposed Elton John song, and his two major commercial hits, “Wake Me Up,” and wrapped with “Can You Do This,” which was the summer theme song on Bravo TV a few years back.

But “Wake Me Up,” has deeper meaning as Blacc feels empathy for those struggling in life.

Openers The Marias were extremely compelling and sultry in their appraoch.  Storm and Drive was all  over the stage. The band has invented a new genre, Americana-punk.

Blacc even hosted a recreated “Soul Train” dance floor, parting the audience as many of the party goers stepped lythely down the pathway towards the stage.
