Nancy Wenstrom’s Gorgeous New Track ‘Vintage Tears’ Captures Collective Emotions

Nancy Wenstrom has released another remarkable track called “Vintage Tears,” which captures the stored emotions many people have been feeling for the last year. The track is off her album, Inside Story, which will be released soon.

The humble singer-songwriter and lead guitarist is blessed with abundant talent; she’s the go-to gal for some of the best musicians in the business. 

All of Wenstrom’s songs hit right at the heart, and “Vintage Tears” is no different. The only difference is that this song, along with her upcoming album were created during the lockdown. “Vintage Tears” has the sound of a workingman’s ballad, complete with catchy hooks and instant immersion. The listener knows it has been rough, but the tough times seem blissful when Nancy Wenstrom sings the blues. She is a powerhouse and her rare talent opens the floodgates of emotion.

The “Vintage Tears” will lead to a clear future is the promise, Wenstrom sings.

She said: “The song was inspired by a friend’s story, but I could so relate from my own experience with unrequited love.”

Wenstrom was born in Houston, Texas but lived all over as she was an Air Force brat, and now chooses to spend her life in the San Francisco Bay area, where she attended UC Berkeley. She started studying the piano at age 8 and the guitar at 12.

Wenstrom s a working musician, who has been playing around the Bay area for 40 years. Her music runs the gamut covering rhythm and blues, rock, pop, jazz and country, and touring and recording with many Bay Area bands.

She’s one of the rare female lead guitarists, and she’s taken the stage with musicians including Bob Weir, Chris Isaac and Grace Slick and has opened for Huey Lewis, Joe Cocker and Elvin Bishop.

Never one to jam alone, musicians on the track are Wenstrom who is composer and acoustic and  electric guitarist, lead vocalist; Joel Jaffe on electric slide guitar, backing vocals; Marc Levine on  bass; Billy Johnson on drums and Hardy Hemphill on harmonica. The recording was produced by Wenstrom and Jaffe.
