Christine and the Queens has canceled their set at Coachella this weekend as the mother of lead performer Héloïse Letissier has passed away, it was announced.

The French-born Letissier and her dancers and musicians were supposed to play Coachella on Saturday, April 20.

Letissier flew back to France to be with her family after finding out her mother passed on Tuesday.

“I can only write very simple phrases,” Letissier wrote on Instagram. “I lost my mother Tuesday night. I returned to (get through) this test with my loved ones – I will not be able to sing this Saturday. I embrace you.”
