Dua Lipa Turns Designer Teaming with UK Brand on Clothing Lines

Popular British singer-songwriter Dua Lipa has turned fashion designer, creating four capsule collections for UK clothing brand /Nyden.

Lipa will create clothing lines in a range of sizes that will reflect her “strong and fierce attitude,” accordining to the U.K. based company that is owned by H&M.

“Dua is one of the most renowned pop artists in the world today,” said Stina Force, creative director of /Nyden. “Her strong and fierce attitude, not to mention distinctive style, make her a perfect fit for the /Nyden tribe and philosophy.”

Dua Lipa: ‘Fashion plays an Important Role’

The /Nyden affordable luxury brand targets the millennial to mid-30s aged shopper.

“My first love is music, but fashion also plays an important role in my life becuase I believe it’s so vital to self-expression,” Lipa said. “I look for clothes that reflect strenth and fearlessness, but also match up to today’s fast pace. So I’m excited to be co-creating with /Nyden on my designs — it’s going to be a collection that’s completely suited to me both onstage and off and for my fans.”

Lipa’s rise to pop fame began at age 14 when she started performing on the web. She was signed to Warner Music and released her first single, “New Love” in 2015.
