The festival, to be held July 21-22, returns to Exposition Park and celebrates its 15th anniversary.

My Bloody Valentine, St. Vincent in the Lineup

Florence + The Machine will headline Saturday and Janet Jackson headlines Sunday. It’s a genre and demo switch-up for the 15-year-old festival, which has a history of showcasing up-and-comers and predominantly independent musicians.

Other performers to hit the stages in Exposition Park include My Bloody Valentine; Future; The xx; St. Vincent; Curtis Harding; Kali Uchis; Daniel Caesar; Unknown Mortal Orchestra; Nina Kraviz; Rhye, Charlotte Gainsbourg and Yaeji.

Jackson and Welch are ‘Badass Women’

In a statement Goldenvoice booker Jennifer Yacoubian said she was “psyched” to have Florence and Jackson, whom she referred to as “badass women.”

“…With incredible artists like Janet Jackson and Florence + The Machine topping this year’s bill, we are so psyched to have two badass women leading the roster as we head into FYF Fest 2018,” Yacoubian said in a statement.

The #MeToo movement certainly had an impact on the local fest and the woman-themed fest appears to be a result of that initiative. Goldenvoice severed ties with partner and FYF Founder Sean Carlson last November over Carlson’s alleged sexual misconduct issues.

Passes for FYF Fest go on sale Friday, April 6 at noon. For more information go to the FYF Fest website.
