Charlie Parr Releases New Album, ‘Dog’

Charlie Parr, the Duluth, Minn.-based blues virtuoso will play the Resident in downtown Los Angeles on Dec. 5. He will be playing cuts from his new album, Dog, which was released through Red House Records.

Parr’s story is as compelling as his music.  The respected musician is the subject of a well-received documentary, Meeting Charlie Parr, and he’s played with some of music’s most renowned artists.

Parr: Down To Earth

Parr has been frank about his battle with depression and has put his turmoil into his work. He’s built a faithful fan base over the years and has released 13 albums prior to Dog.

Parr is known for his Piedmont finger style of blues picking and he plays a variety of instruments including a 12-string guitar, a Mule resonator, a National resonator guitar and a fretless banjo.
